2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey

My pumas blue smoke on cold morning start ups.

My 2010 puma kicks out blue smoke on start up but then clears after 30 seconds this is on cold days, mostly i notice it when its been stud over night, i dont think it does it when shes warmed up. Just wondered if anybody else as this issue.

I only get blue smoke if I don`t wait for the glow plug light to go out before I turn the key to fire up the starter motor.

Yes i no what you mean, because my van does that but with the puma i do let the glow plug light go out, i have only noticed it when its been stud cold over night, i wonder if the glow plugs could be the problem although it starts fine.

its been covered on here before, to do with over fuelling when below 5 degree's

NO ROAD..........EXCEPT FOR LANDROVER

My 2009 110 smoked more than me on a cold morning

My 2013 2.2 has very little, if any, blue smoke on a cold morning.

blue smoke is an indication that oil is being burnt during the combustion

white smoke is unburnt diesel or water

black smoke is partially burnt diesel --
