The Champion page says that a Puma should use:
3006 Champion new energy ATF D III But there doesn't seem to be a UK supplier. Is this the right one and where do I get some? Merlin |

Any decent ATF power steering fluid will do if you change it at the specified intervals.
Halfords have this which meets the same spec as the Champion brand. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...yId_255219 Any good motor factors will see you right. Or go to the maindealer and buy some from them. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

As above but in more detail (sorry)
D (Dexron - General Motors trade registered name) III (3) is just a middle of the range Auto Transmission Fluid, the specification can be important for gearbox applications but not so for the far less tech steering system. D3 should be available at every garage, accessory shop, motor factor but you could use is predecessor D2 or it's later replacement ATFMV or D6 as some will call it. (GM dropped the product name so there was no D4 or D5 - All of these have a red dye additive. More complex gearbox applications like the ZF6 or 8 use an oil with a yellowish additive to help with identification. There are some LR models that use ACE fluid which is a synthetic fluid (Greenish colour) this is CHF11s or CHF202 again widely available but LR hide the specification behind their own part numbers. Certain countries will use this in place of ATF but they must not be mixed. Paul Redding +44 (0)23 8052 2760 www.advancedfactors.co.uk Site Sponsor for Aftermarket Parts |

Just checked out your site. That is a very good price for 5 litres of the Ford spec 5W-30 A5/B5 fully synthetic.

Thanks spudfan, but changing power steering fluid at intervals? First I've heard of that. No mention of changing it in the service plan.

The fluid you use will tell you how often it should be changed. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Mines the same - I was going to ask the dealer to drop a bit in at the first service rather than top up myself and then have nearly a whole bottle sat on the shelf for years. |
