If you were to undo the bolts from the outside, the likelihood is the bolt and nut will start spinning. It is a traditional bolt with a sizeable washer and nut on the inside beneath the interior trim. You will have to have the trim off to be able to hold the nut etc etc.
Worth doing and only takes 5 mins max to remove the trim. Phil |

You need to take the door panel off ... Not tricky

When I removed my rear spare wheel carrier I put stainless steel button head bolts in instead of the original ones.
