Oil filter housing
Just thinking (always a bad sign)... is it worth having a spare oil filter housing for remote travel?

How solid are these things?

They are only plastic and I suspect will fail with time.

I actually like the oil filter setup on the Puma as I have found changing the filter to be quite easy. 110 2.4TDCi

I would say its pretty solid looking and out of the way of trouble. But if cheap go for it. I reckon the fuel cooler needs protection.

Devon 4x4 make a protector for the fuel cooler. I guess I'm more concerned with the oil cooler cracking when you are doing an oil change and then having to wait several days to get a new one flown in. It does sit up out of harms way. 110 2.4TDCi

By the way the oil filter housing is exactly the same as the one on my peugeot 206. Might be cheaper from peugeot or a scrap yard. 130 crew cab

I doubt it down here, Peugeot's aren't very common here. But thanks for the tip as there's been several Puma's wrecked and I may be able to get one off one of those. 110 2.4TDCi
