When sleeping in my caravan awning I use an Aero Bed 'Active Raised' inflatable mattress, they come with their own rechargeable pump and they are very very comfy to sleep on. The pump twists into the valve and switches on by itself, it inflates within 1 minute and quickly deflates and rolls up into its own bag...

Self inflating beds for us - pay the extra & get a nice thick one, they roll up fairly small Thumbs Up

I use ex army folding allot beds ,not to heavy, two mins to erect .topped of with a thermamat in cold weather .they are quite wide and strong.

However I tried a wide oz stretcher and another padded one recently which I have to say is something on my wish list.

For tent I use a quality thermarest

I use two Alps Mountaneering tent cots in my Oztent RV4, they fit perfectly on either side leaving a nice corridor down the middle, and enough space at the window end for a small table between them (folding cheapo wooden one from Ikea or the the like).

They are super stable (I think more so than the regular, army scissor types) and are easy to set up once you figure out the correct method of popping everything in place. They're at a good height and you can store your bags and boxes under them inside the tent, so no need to always go into the car to get something.

On a few weeks test run travelling and tenting almost every night with the RV4 in the Balkans this summer they worked perfectly.

I can't stress enough how convenient it was to have the space under them for your bags and whatnot (this would hold true for most folding cots). We had room for each of our personal items and clothes bag, one bag for the duvets and sleeping bags and one for snacks and computers/entertainment. Only had to get out of the tent to either cook or do your business. Really nice when there are a lot of mosquitos around or when the weather is not at its best.
