Windows 8.1 available now
just upgraded to windows 8.1 from windows 8.0

few nice new touches including a "Windows" button .. glad that's back

you can still use the Start 8 or even CNET's "Start Menu 8" it's free, the windows 8.1 start button is not totally fixed Sad

Not wasted as the "Start Button" is a fob off. All it does is flip you to the metro start screen. Doesn't give you the Win 7 "Start Menu".

I think Microsoft were being very obtuse when they agreed to put the Start Menu back...it's not what the people were asking for.

However, overall Win 8.1 is a good update..Smile

Support stops for XP in April, gradually things will stop working for XP and you'll have to change OS. Obsolete selling.

yep, been mac all the way for 5-6 years now.

its nice to have regular, free or cheap updates and to not pay Ł100+ for Censored MS Word.

Microsoft have lost their was since XP which was the last decent one, no wonder apple's mac share is growing Smile Cheers, David
Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8.
