New Nikon teaser adverts
I believe these will be aired on TV as well as the internet.

Nikon are launching something a bit secret. Rumour has it, it's a retro-style SLR.

Anyway, the adverts features a photographer roaming around the Scottish highlands with this said new camera (although you don't get to see it).

My point? I believe he's roaming around in a Defender.

Here's a photo that's being shown on the Chinese Nikon site;

Yep, that's the one! Thumbs Up

A retro based on the old "2", however, the debate is out on whether it'll be mirrorless or not, I suspect it'll be an SLR. Craig Rogers

I can't imagine they'll bring an slr to the market. How many manufacturers do actually still produce analog cameras?
If it's a digital camera with an oldskool design they won't get me interested a single bit.
Last year I rediscovered film camera's. Hardly shooting digital anymore.

I think that's exactly what it is, a retro DSLR.

As you say, I wouldn't have any interest at all, but there does seem to be quite a excitement amongst some. Craig Rogers

Hmm - it maybe incorperate the 4/5th sensor technology for full frame lenses/sensor with a 'live view' view finder so removing the need for a mirror ...
Panasonic have done this with the Lumex range Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold
Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126

Who knows at the moment, but rumours have it that it'll have a pp viewfinder so will have a mirror. Craig Rogers

I'm getting dizzy of that iPhone techno talk. I take pictures with the best build rangefinders money can get. The oldskool way. I bet you iPhone people never heard of film... Mr. Green

Myself, was hoping for a stylish looking Canon compact with full frame sensor but it became a sluggish buggy EOS M.
I'll have a serious look at the A7R when it's available.

"the best camera is the one you have with you"

and unless you blow up bigger than A3, an iPhone will do a brilliant job - especially the new 5S with its bigger sensor.
Don't be fooled by other companies' MegaPixel claims, its about light not file size. (the new nokia with 41MP actually takes relatively poor photos..) Cheers, David
Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8.
