Just checking, have you checked the breather is clear and actually breathing?

When I had this, it turned out to be the rear oil seal leaking onto the handbrake drum. A P0022 recall fixed it.

Thanks Merlin - it is dry, but will have a better look at the weekend. it is also 2005 TD5, which I didn't mention as I believe most differences are subtle.
No Steve not checked yet, predominately due to the precipitation falling. Can't see what will have causwed a blockage, might be wrong but no events of note |

On my 300 tdi i replaced the rear axle diff pinion oil seal twice before i realised the breather was blocked

^^ That was what I saw thinking, I thought the same with mine though and even checked it and found it was clear. So it's a possibility. ____\We|Will|Win/___

What oil is in there are you sure it's been put in to the correct grade? If you did it yourself then won't be the issue. I know the smell you mean though....

I did the hubs, researched and used correct grade IIRC EP75/80. Been fine, oil level is good so don't think it can be the diffs
|
