Heater controls not working correctly after warranty work
I've just got my Defender back after some warranty work to finally correct corrosion around the screen and replace very badly corroded windscreen blocks.

This took 3 weeks and they had to remove the dash to do this and I've noticed that the cowling around the steering wheel is loose and the heater control that selects fresh or recirculated air now isn't connected to anything, and the heater is set to recirculated air.

It took the dealers two attempts to repair the windscreen corrosion (which finally doesn't leak and looks good), and they had the vehicle for more than 4 weeks in total, and so I'm reluctant to send it back to them again for them to have a third try. I'm also tired of driving their loan car around (1.2L Vauxhall Corsa).

My question is this - is their a (relatively) easy way to reconnect the heater control switch? Or at the very least, is there a way I can switch the heater so that it is using fresh air?

mike there is a thread on here on removing the dash - done by custom steve with pictures - it just prys off after removing the 2 torx screws. i'm sure the engingeers haven't aligned the controls when they refitted the dash.

Thanks - I'll have a look and find the time to pop the dash off and see what the dealer's trained monkeys have done...

I would contact LR customer service first and have trhem inspect the work carried out, then letter of complaint to garage owners and have them send someone to you to correct the work they have not done. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
