defender tdci & transit tdci
hi

I want to learn if these both vehicles have the exactly same engine, wiring, ecu. etc.?

if I buy new engine from ford as 2.4 tdci, will it work with defender puma tdci's wiring loom?

are the ecu's the same?

can someone help me?

thanks

Engine is basicaly the same, just 'beefed up' with regards to seals etc [for harsher use]

Ecu wont work, they have different programs loaded. No reason why you couldnt re-program, but im not gen'ed up enough to know if thats a go'er
HTH Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Old thread and newbie here Shocked

I'd like to know if folks have any better, more informed thoughts on the compatability between the Land Rover and Transit versions of this engine? Got a defender with engine wrecked and looking to replace with transit block/head Smile

Any thoughts would be helpful Thumbs Up

yes it will fit they are the same all built in the same factory you would want the 140ps version once programed to the ecu with new injector codes and so on should be fine saying that if your jsut replacing parts of the block or head you will be using the orignal injectors and ecu so cant see why not beware though on a defender engine there is no dual mass fly wheel on transit one there is

steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs
3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P
