Split seam on howling moon
Evening all

The seam in the ground sheet of my stargazer annex has split. It is your standard pvc affair and the seams are only glued so no stitching and the seam obviously overlaps (by about 15mm).

So does anyone know what glue/sealer I should use? I notice that go outdoors sell a tube of sikaflex tent repair sealant for about £9. Would this be any good?

I might also decide to split the seam fully from one side of the tent to the other as it looks weak all the way along, so I would need enough to seal a 2m seam.

Thanks in advance

Jim

Hi Jim,
Personally I would try to avoid splitting the seam further then you have to. Just worried that you might make situation worse.

Would suggest you consider sail repair tape along the length of the seam. It is 50mm wide so will cover the seam with plenty to overlap.
