One headlight time of year
Why can't other road users check their lights before setting off in these dark mornings ?

it really annoys me when you see the same car day after day coming in the opposite direction with one headlight... what happens when the other bulb blows ?

I think lots of people would't even notice until MOT or service time!

Even worse, some muppets think it's OK and just use foggers as well (illegally) to add a bit of extra light up front.

There's also the ones who have tried to do a home repair, and now have 1 headlight used for spotting low-flying aircrafy & dazzling everyone.

The cops don;t seem to do anything about any of these, unless they're just used as a reasone for a stop & breathylise... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I can't fathom why the law on this isnt the same as europe, and with the added mandatory carrying of spare bulbs. if it was made a 3 point offence i m sure that would concentrate peoples minds

i think that we are lucky to have the ability to change a bulb land rover have not made it almost imposible to do like renault and others we can change a buld for apx 15 to 20 when others need to take them to the dealer or a garage at apx £100

I get my son to change the bulbs in our A2 as his hands are still just small enough... but he keeps growing Big Cry Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Dont ever recall in the seven years we have lived here ever seeing any of the neighbours lift the bonnet of their cars to do the normal checks.

Most of them would only have a panic if a pop out cup holder did not work.

True. Still, for me, using a handheld phone should be a driving ban. Maybe that'd work.

Wifey's old Tigra was a bumper-off job, but I wouldn't let her run about with only one headlight for more than absolutely necassary (i.e. first daylight chance I could get).

It's bad enough on the motorbike, with only one headlight to start with Exclamation

My xc70 has a bulb upgrade (Philips Extreme) on dip beam since I hit a deer last autumn.

Good idea to carry a spare, I do have a spare set, so I think I'll pop them in the oddments box - especially at this time of year... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

The girl next door Cool has a VW Lupo. I fitted new brakes on the front for her a while back, pre service time, to save her some money Whistle Whistle

I told her that there was a brake light out (actually, i text her as i saw her drive past one day), "no problem" she replied, "it's in for a service tomorrow, i'll tell them"

next day, bulb is still out! good garage eh? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

So errrr.......is that not a reason why other people might be driving with only one headlight? Whistle

I agree less laws not more. but the ones we have should really hurt those that are caught.....
ie murder - life for a life
dangerous driving - murder (I mean execution)
theft - hands off......

get the idea? Very Happy
