Dont know of this is the same thing as I dont know what the MIL light is. After driving only a couple of miles and the engine temp just coming off cold, the engine tone completely changed to sounding like very heavy pinking in a petrol car. The engine warning light came on and the car lost power. After switching the engine off and waiting a few minutes everything was back to normal except the warning light stayed on. I drove to the dealer and they downloaded a software update which seems to have cured he problem although it is too early to be sure. Ive also posted this reply under another topic which may deal with the same thing.
