Popped out on to site this afternoon to do some work (happens occasionally)
One of the delivery wagons had got stuck in the mud, a 9 tonne dumper was trying to pull it out, ad was just spinning all 4 wheels, and going nowhere, I offered to help and got laughed at. 
I insisted that I give it a go, nice heavy strop on the tow bar and low range selected. Pulled the dumper and the wagon out of the mud and up the hill, Now who's laughing

I reckon if the dumper had loaded up some ballast, he'd have had the grip to pull the artic.
