Grab handles
I find that I need grab handles on my passenger side on the area just above the door, can this be done where would one fix them.

I notice there are grab handles on the spare wheel door , can they be moved?

The handles on the car from new usually have some reinforcement behind them - can you not use the dash handle? Mike

The only way I've seen handles installed over the front passenger's door is with the use of reinforcing brackets fixed under the trim edge, where the head lining has plastic pop-tabs. There is no reinforcing inside the headlining up where you would put the handle. Here is a link to the thread on our AULRO forum where it was discussed in detail with some pics of what others have done...

Apparently the grab handle above the door is the last place your arm should be in the event of an overturn as your arm will fly out the window and possibly trap you. That is why Defenders have grabs on the dash. This no doubt is after years of accident analysis.... 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Mine come from the Freelander. I have put 4: one over each passenger door, one ine the middle of the roof in the rear for the middle rear passenger. Perfect.

No idea how my mechanic did it, but it is very strong.

Probably right, but the handle on the roof avoids you to hit the head against the frame or window. The other solution is to install a steering wheel Whistle Puma 110" SW
