Wiring up some spots
Wiring Diagram help.

Right I'm gonna wire my lights in.

I have

LED Light bar on the roof
Halogen Spots in the 'A' Bar
I Now have a proper LR '2nd' light switch

What I want is these as options

Only factory lights. (dip / main beam)
Factory + Spots only (coming on with the main beam)
Factory + LED Bar only (coming on with the main beam)
Factory + Spots + LED Bar (coming on with the main beam)

Do-able with a little bank of extra switches?

You also have three switches on the earth line for the relays or are you earthing all the relays through the same OEM dash switch? Yes you can bin the top relay and the two seperate earth switches by wiring both through the OEM dash switch. Why overcomplicate it? All or nothing isolation from main beam achieved through the single OEM dash switch. Less to go wrong.

But you don't link your 85 & 87 or you'll be putting your relay output to ground through the LED when you operate your auxillary switch.. Put the LED in series with your relay coil terminal 86. Thumbs Up

Sure you will already have thought of it, but just make sure you get the power ratings fully calculated for the lights first so you can select the correct cable / fuses / relays etc. 15A may not be sufficient depending on what lights you use. Some of the 40" LED bars can draw upto 20A on their own.
Good luck! Thumbs Up

My only thought on this one is that with the LED in series, if it fails then so do your lights.

You could use switches that illuminate when selected, there's plenty of site sponsors that will sell you some. Carling switches etc.

How would I put these in then?

So I'd have the OE switch as the master cut off.

The two of the above switches that control the two circuits.

I would expect the LED on the switch to only light when the light is on.

ie:

Master OE Switch latched.
Rocker switched to on
Main Beam on

Help????

Wiring does my tiny brain in !!

Assume the three connectors on the back will be:

Ground
Load
Supply

How does this work if wiring on the Ground as the OE switch dictates???

Help before I go to LR4x4 and get laughed at Big Cry

That diagram grounds 85 to 87 for the LED in the switch

K9F says not to do that, which seems to make sense.

Even more confused now!
