I think that is the vent tube from the top of the auto air bleed inside the case. The auto air bleeds fail after time, becoming lazy. So I would shut auto bleed off, or replace it if leaking a lot. As on a good system they are not really needed once system is full.
Is it leaking a lot? Andy |

Once or twice a week it's a slow drip, other days nothing.
How do you shut it off? Thanks for the advice |

Have you checked the water pressure
If it goes too high the over flow will kick in. If the water pressure has risen, check the recommended level For that particular boiler and either open the mains water tap to increase water pressure Or bleed a radiator to decrease it. If it is within the normal pressure it shouldn't leak. |

Water pressure was low when it was leaking. 0.5bar.

I'm not familiar with your particular boiler, but I've just had a look at the service book for it and it appears to be an automatic air vent thats leaking - these AAV's frequently fail - they are a float that operates a pin in a tube, so when air is present the float drops and lets the air out, the water rises as does the float, pushing the pin in and sealing the device. The problem is that central heating water is usually full of Cr*p and this can stop the pin seating properly - and / or the rubber seal in the vent can deteriorate.
Hope this helps. Series IIa Lightweight - Long Gone Discovery 1 300Tdi - Sold Defender 110 XS 07MY Utility |

in addition to my above post - here is the service book -
https://www.heatingspares247.com/download/...ctions.pdf for information only - get a Gas Safe registered engineer to repair it shouldn't cost much if it's only the AAV that needs replaced. Series IIa Lightweight - Long Gone Discovery 1 300Tdi - Sold Defender 110 XS 07MY Utility |
