While hunting for a replacement fire for the lounge I came across the usual Gas / Electric ones and then found these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Fire-Place-R...4ac7c5ca8d Does anyone use/have a Bio Ethanol fire in their house? If so what are your thoughts? Are they as some sites suggest 100% efficient? The gas fire we currently has only been used a handful of times over the 12 years we have been in the house. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

100% efficient you would expect the chemical potential energy to be completely transformed into heat which is put where you want it.
See those flickering flames, that's light, not heat. www.td5.org |

Seen these in B&Q, you can buy bio ethanol camp stoves so they must be able to throw out some heat.

They do luck rather funky fires and a bit more interesting than your standard gas/electric fire.
Might go and have a look at some at the weekend. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
