I did mine recently in gloss black (actually black smoothrite) Gave the crossmember a good rub down with wet and dry then etch primed then a couple of coats of gloss black to finish. Looks good in my opinion and easy to keep clean. 2005 Td5 90 XS

yeah, im leaning towards that - dont like the way that satin/matte blacks seem to go grey, especially when compared to the metallic black bodywork?

you dont happen to have a picture do you? you could email if its easier than posting here? no worries if not though.. Cheers, David

My rear cross member paint had worn thin over the years as it seems to get sandblasted by salt and gravel caught up in the vortex behind the car this is why i used the Smoothright as it,s much harder wearing than satin black.Did my old 300 Tdi the same and that stayed good looking for years.
Will try and get a pic and e mail to you (not mastered posting pics yet). 2005 Td5 90 XS

Try this kit - plenty enough for rear cross member, front bumper, axles and more:

Yeah you often find it will go through the warranty. I had mudflaps, bolts etc done but decided to just do xm myself for peace of mind Cheers, David
