Loch Lomond.
Hi all
It's our 30th anniversary next year and i promised the wife that i would take her up around Loch Lomond after doing the LE-JOG in 2016.
So i would like to know if anyone can recommend a nice holiday cottage for about a week around the area's of Crialarich to St Fillans and down as far as Callander for next September 2019 and then hopefully after that week will be doing the NC500.
I have got the NC 500 planed, but can always change for any new information Wink i do like to book things with plenty of time just in case of the unexpected happens Very Happy

TIA Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Have you tried Airbnb?

Type in your area and price and see what’s around.

You could do LEJOG straight into the NC500 and then on to loch Lomond, the route works out pretty well. You can do the Eastern leg of the NC500 to get to John O'Groats then continue the NC500 which leads you nicely towards Loch Lomond Thumbs Up

We went to a nice one at the bottom of the loch but it’s for up to 8 people https://www.lomondappletree.co.uk
Or if you fancy going higher up one of my customers let’s this out https://www.homeaway.co.uk/p6730373
On a personal note I would bypass Loch Lomond and go higher up the west coast Loch Lomond is a bit boring unless you have a boat.

Hi Clayton,

Don't be a stranger now, when tackling the NC500, and make sure and ask if you fancy any 'local knowledge'.

Cottages - only stayed in one that I can remember in that area - it was called the East Lodge, just outside Callander, on the south shore of Loch Venachar. It's a dead end, so no through traffic, and a raised deck/balcony oveflooking the loch. Not 100% sure it's still on the market, but I think we found it via 'love to escape' - though I am going back several years now. Donald

Going to do the NC500 after the weeks holiday around Loch Lomond and then making our way home slowly so making it a 2 week holiday as we do not do holidays, the last holiday that we did was in 1989 Shocked that was for a month though Very Happy

Thanks George Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Many thanks for the info Donald, they are still going and the wife loves it, so as they can't give me a availability time i have had to email them, we will wait and see Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

We're going to do Scotland ( including the NC500 ) this year as we can't get one of our dogs inoculated for rabies, so our trip to Switzeland & Austria has to wait, however given my past experience of Scotland, this isn't too bad!

We leave here on the 17th ( Devon ) and and get into Edinburgh for New Years Eve after travelling up through Loch Lomond and the West coast ( including Skye ), along the top ( staying in Wick ) and down through Cairngorms national park. We're camping in the roof tent and have a small cottage booked through Airbnb in Wick for Christmas eve, day & boxing day.

Price wise it was £45 a night for this place;

https://www.thrumster.co.uk/the-lodge-house

Totally away from where you want to be, but gives an idea of price etc.

I'll share any information i find to you when we get back Thumbs Up
