2015 output shaft, 87'000 km
Not much wear to be seen. Not much grease either, instead it looked like the silver anti-seize paste one would use on brake parts.
I'm surmising that the combination of a lack of wear and a lack of grease is an indication that there is no alignment issue here, and therefore the LOF onepiece shaft should be a fix-and-forget part.

While it doesn't look bad considering it's done 54,000 miles, I would say it is significantly worn.
Looking at the width of the unworn spline, compared to the area near the snap ring, it appears to be 30% reduced. Just by looking at the picture.
Changing it was a good idea.

While I agree the replacement was wise, Iβm not sure I completely agree with your assessment. The teeth are lower at the edges, probably to aid fitment, which you have noticed in the picture.
What is clear, is that any grease that was originally there has dried and gone hard and rust is starting on this part, on a truck that has no other rust at all. It probably could be re-greased and checked again down the road, but I donβt feel that mounting and remounting on the dowels would benefit alignment at all. Seems like the best course of action is to sort it the best we can now and buy as much time as possible.Roaming around π³π΄π¨π
