2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
Main Dealer ECU upgrade
Mine has just gone in for the first service and i asked them to do the latest engine ECU upgrade, which they have apparently done, improves mid range(?) anyway not driven it yet since i got it back so time will tell, but that aside i had a loaner (newer than mine) and it went like stink compared to mine (09 plate against a 58 plate)

Maybe LR have brought something good out!!

anyone else had it done and noticed much difference? Cheers

My June 09 had the upgrade done today at Yeovil LR.

The difference after the upgrade is very noticable - no knocking, an increase in power and the engine revs more freely.

So far I am very impressed Thumbs Up

i noticed a similar thing in the loan car - i wondered if it was due to less weight than mine, but it didnt account for the reving. Mike

My experience has been very short. About 20 km to come back from the dealer and put the BAS remap back in. A small difference. Better mid-range power delivery. But nothing remotely comparable to what the BAS remap does to the driving experience. Boldly going nowhere

JB, after the Dealer upgrade have you put into the ECU your "old" BAS map? or have you read the new STD one and the sent to Pete for a revised new TUNED map?

Because the next week (I hope, my Dealer upgrade the IDS SW alway late) I'll go to upgrade mine.

And the minor diesel knock, after the BAS upgrade is it still "quiet"?

Yes you do have to send the new STD file to Peter who will send you a new TUNED one. You have to erase both old files on the device before you do that.
The "pinging" stays about the same.

Underneath the email I got from Pete at the time:

"Hi
You need to try and put the current map of mine back on. If it goes on they have not made the update.

If it doesnot which it should not it will advise of a change when going so.

Then
Link the tool to pc
Errase and confirm
Link again
Choose car, model, engine and confirm
Read car as per first time and send me the file.

Pete. " Boldly going nowhere
