Just off for .....
.. the dreaded MOT test Neutral

Nippy should sail through easily, but why does it always give us the colly-wobbles lol Laughing

I take vehicles for MOT every week at work, never bat an eyelid .... but as soon as it's you're own one ..... Rolling Eyes Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Mine passed too today.... Thumbs Up Sticky out wheels and no catalytic convertor 'n' all (let's not have another discussion of 'ignition sparked' engines and cats please)....

Shocked to discover that I had only covered 1,900 miles since the last one! Shocked Only thing that did concern me was the fact I had swapped out my standard quadoptic headlamps for JW Speaker ones and not carried out any adjustments. Did mention if they could tweak them for me if required.....Thankfully they were spot on!

When taxing the vehicle on-line I was too tight to pay the £1:50 charge for them to text you when your MOT is due....I very, very nearly forgot! Think I'll use this facility.... Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Nice one Cool

Mine had covered 3540 miles ... obviously didnt use it so much this last year, normally does about 5000 between services.

Picked up one advisory on 'Light oil misting on o/s/r shock absorber' .... christ knows what he saw, but i just double checked again and can't see it ........ unless he means the residue from its last waxoyl'ing Rolling Eyes Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Since I got a company car (a Mini One diesel estate) I've been using that most of the time. It is fun to drive and I drive it like I stole it but it still returns me 55-61 MPG....

When I was in the Services living in the Mess during the week and travelling back and forth to home weekends the mileage was clocking on the Defender. That is now heading on for four years old and it's got just shy of 33k on it.....Mini's taken the pressure off drastically. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Another year gone, a further 1,700 miles and another MOT. Again no issues with sticky out wheels and one up the chuff for Westovers who constantly remind me my vehicle wouldn't pass an MOT because of them.....

That's why I don't take it to you!!!!!!!

One happy chappie... Cool If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Company car takes the hit on the mileage....and driving style and frustrations associated with it. The Land Rover owes me nothing and I do not wish to rely on the company car should I wish to jack by job in. The Land Rover's a keeper and I can lavish care, attention and dosh on it knowing it's there when and if I really need it!

^^^^

Not at all.....

Briefly....If I would take the allowance in lieu of a company car the Tax Man would claw 40% of it straight away. The tax liability due to the cost of purchase, emmisions etc. equates to only 20%.

It's cheaper for me to have a company car than not! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
