Over the past couple of months I have had time to re-evaluate my life, and worked with my family to see what is important to them. After some very honest discussions with both my wife and daughter it has become apparent that overland adventures are just not for them, and they have not been enjoying our holidays as much as I thought they have.
Looking at things I have the Defender which will happily support scaled down travels or just travels on my own, so no longer have any need for the Overland Trailer. If you are not sure what I am selling please check out my build thread here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=49598&page=1 The trailer probably owes me nearly £4k in build costs alone not to mention my time I am therefore going to put it on the market at £6,500.00 but am open to sensible offers. I realise that this is not everyone's cup of tea and if I get no offers I will be advertising it on eBay. Included in the sale is the following The Trailer Roof Tent 2 x gas Bottles 2 x 110amp battries All the hot water system and tank All of the fitted euro boxes The complete power system The Awning The Microwave Spare Boost alloy (Boost on the trailer) Any trailer spares I have such as bearings etc The electrical hook up Security devices Basically everything with the exception of our camping and personal equipment and my National Luna Fridge although this could also be for sale if the price was right. I have thought long and hard before listing the trailer and it is not a decision I have come to lightly, anyone interested is of course welcome to come and take a look, I plan to remove all of our camping gear this weekend, oh and you would need a Nato hitch and standard towing electrics to collect it although delivery could again be arranged at cost. Blimey Jason, that's a shame after all of the effort you've put into building it. Still, family comes first.

Who said you had had to rough it on a camping holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 When I was a student I would have killed for such luxurious facilities. Jason - I have an alternative plan - sell the wife and daughter and keep the trailer! But seriously. a beautiful bit of kit and a credit to you. I hope the lucky new owner gets to use it properly - make sure you get a first refusal agreement from him should he wish to sell it back and your family change their minds(stranger things have happened) My father-in-law was badgered, by her indoors and my wife's sister, into selling his boat to fund an apartment in Spain. Once the novelty had wore off..............................you get the rest. |
