Ground anchors
What anchor are you using and why,

Why are ground anchors so expensive compared to boat anchors.

Why can't i use a boat anchor instead. i.e. a bruce or danforth.

I read about a chap who use's the folding grapple type, if it doesn't grip he just piggy backs another one behind it and so on. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

I have one of these it has 3 settings that are used for varying soil types. Rated at 12,000lb It also folds up for safe stowage

Best one i have found is the X-Eng one http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Anchor.asp very light and easy

That.. or a Devon4x4 one, both popular on challenge events

But both give storage issues though,,

Have used one of the ones in Andrew's picture,, but can not remember the name,, start with a P, IIRC ?? California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

i use an X-Eng one, its a good bit of kit and excellent being light to chuck about on events etc. if storage is a problem then consider the devon one, or plate and pin if time is not of an issue. if i wasnt doing challenges where speed is of the essence i would go plate and pin and the Rec Mechs will have some kicking about!! Cheers

So a PRT and a set of pins n plate and I'll be reasonably covered for the average greenlane and shouldn't have to resort to burying the spare wheel Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
