Stickered up for Le Mans
OK so it's not a modification, but does anybody within a drivable distance of Halifax (anywhere between Manchester and Leeds) have experience of putting fairly large vinyl stickers on cars? And if so, would you be willing to help me put a number of stickers on mine in preparation for Le Mans in June? I would do it myself, but I'm incompetent. That's why I work for a bank.

Cheers

You could try Matthew at MKS Classics - he used to do that sort of thing for a living and now does Land Rover and classic car servicing and repairs: http://www.mksclassic.co.uk

He does a lot of the spanner work on Brendan's fleet. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Try Nick at Screenprint Digital in Knaresborough, they supply and fit all kinds of vehicle graphics including classic racing stuff and Nick is a 100percent total petrolhead and has been attending the LeMans 24 hours event for about 25 years or more.

They're on Waterside in Knaresborough, about 10 mins from this weekends LR event at the Showground in Harrogate.

Matthew at MKS is one of the few people I trust to take spanners to our 'fleet'

We have several main dealers and independents much closer to us, one within 2 miles but we prefer to travel to Matthew. oK less convenient, more miles but worth it to go somewhere we trust. Thumbs Up

I love Le Mans Mr. Green

I sticker-ed up my TVR is was ace!!!!!!!

We put 2 blue stripes down our TVRs Laughing (note our Flag Thumbs Up )

When I got home it wasn't such a good idea Big Cry

Had to get the car resprayed.

I doubt Defenders have much better paint quality than a TVR judging by the lump of paint that came off my 110 when jet washing it so if you do sticker up, be careful!! Thumbs Up

You can buy some sort of soapy crap to remove them properly I believe. I feel quite safe considering the number of people in bangers and exotics alike who snickered up last year! Looks good, that TVR, though.

Cheers for the suggestions chaps.

Chris, I might have an opportunity to pop down first week in June, I'll keep you posted. Geoff

Soapy water to put them on (allows you to move them around to get them in the right place and expell air bubbles), warmth to get them off, hot day or hairdryer and then turps to remove the glue residue Thumbs Up

Real good wax first as well, I stickered my defender up for Help for Heroes Rally, they all came off no problem with a gently hairdryer, then a quick t cut to remove any residue left.
