Help!!! Volunteers/Victims wanted.....Sunday 16th June 2013
Firstly, hoping this is okay to post this.... Martin, please delete if breaks any forum rules etc.....

- Are you local'ish to the Winslow (Buckinghamshire) area ?
- Have you had a secret desire to jump over large inflatable obstacles and get covered in foam?
- Are you willing to pay £50 for the privilidge and the associated public humiliation ?
- Are you (and the family) at a loose end on Fathers day - Sunday 16th June 2013 ?
- Do you want a free collectors item lime green FCX.me.uk T-shirt (XL - one size fits all)

If so.... then I need your help. Bow down Bow down

Any of you that are local to the Winslow area may have attended last years fun day event in aid of the charity Alec’s Angels and witnessed the general mayhem that was the ‘It’s a knockout’ tournament.

After one or two pints of bravado last year. I foolishly said that I’d be up for trying to organise a team for 2013 if they ran a similar event. Well, they are indeed running an event and I have been reminded of my promise.

A bit of backgground......Alec was a close primary school friend of my eldest, who tragically died from a brain tumour two years ago. His parents set up Alecs Angels in his memory in order to raise funds for a number of other charities that they relied upon but also to try to offer parents going through a similar experience help with those day to day things seem so insignificant normally. You can find out more about the charity at www.alecsangels.co.uk

So, back to it’s a knockout. Go on admit it… you’ve always wanted to jump over large inflatables and get covered in foam and generally make a berk of yourself for a good cause!

I’m told we ideally need a team of ten as then players can rotate through the games. Each team must come up with a minimum donation of £500, so a team of ten keeps the maths simple Very Happy

Matt @ FCX has very generously donated ten of his limited edition collectors item FCX.me.uk lime green t-shirts. At the moment however, we only have four confirmed bodies to fill these T-shirts.

Numerous appeals/threats/bribes etc are in full flow to try to get our team numbers up and so I though I should subject you lot to it too. Clearly this is nothing Defender related, just seeking a few local'ish volunteers who don't mind giving up some time and money for a good cause. This open to all genders, all abilities, all levels of fitness, although the minimum age is eighteen. Six places are up for grabs at the moment.

Even if the It's a knockout bit is not for you, it's still a good day out, with helicopter rides, 8 lane scalectrix, dads footy competition and a number of other stalls (plus obligatory food & booze). In the afternoon, they open up the It's a knockout for the kids for a small donation, £5 last year.

If you want to know a bit more about the day, the following you-tube link has some clips from last years event. (My daughter Annabel can be seen on the afternoon kids course at 2mins 20 in)

So, anyone fancy sharing a canister of St Johns Ambulance oxygen with me?

Cheers

Jon Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
