Garage air compressor - which one
Guys,

Im looking for a simple to use, nothing too fancy air compressor which will be bought to Dinitrol the car and then for any other general use.

Theres a few sites that are offering a SIP 6296 for around £110 complete with a basic air kit. Any of the more knowledgeable folk offer any advice?

Thanks

Wait for Lidl or Aldi.
Both their £100 compressors are excellent.

I got a Clarke one from Machine Mart and paid about £140 on one of their VAT free days. It is ok, but not overly impressed with build quality.

The other issue I find is that unless you go for a really good sized one then they just don not produce the volume of air you need for certain jobs, although for just a but od Dinitrol application you don't need anything too big. If you lan to use air tools and other things in the future then invest in something a decent size now.

I've had this Wolf one for around 5 years now and it's been fine. I do wonder if the Lidl/Aldi ones are in fact made by the same crowd that make them for Wolf as they do look remarkably similar from memory.

I have some sympathy with Alex1976's view.... I wonder if I should have gone for one with a greater air capacity as my main use is creosoting (or modern pansy equivilent) a fair old amount of fencing. Can normally work around this though as the regular top ups to the spray gun gives the unit a chance to recover. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
