Slim line strips come in 60g loads made up as you can see of 5g & 10g (some strips come as 5gs still 60g total)
Yes there are bigger single weights out there however these can cause clearance probs Me I'd spun the tyre first less weight maybe required unless they had already done that |

They did first put the wheels on their balancing machine, with the first wheel that said it needed 70g adding. The wheels hadnt been previously balanced. Im assuming the caravan could have been shaking like mad without me knowing?
The weights are just stuck on with a self adhesive backing, had I known I would have cleaned the rims for a better bonding. Are they likely to hold firmly in place or should I keep an eye on them incase they fall off?? |

Nah, you should be fine with those weights as long as the they cleaned the wheel before applying them. Centrifugal force also helps the adhesion process. I've got the same on my alloys but in greater quantities, doesn't seem to matter what I throw at the wheels, the weights still stick firm

Ive just had a closer look at the wheels and it does look like they wiped the area of the rim first
If I did notice that some had fallen off could I just buy some more and replace them myself, now I know exactly where they are positioned. Or is that fools talk?  |

Worth putting some tank tape over the weights,,

No so much with stick on weights,, but seen a clip on weight make a mess of a wing top !!!

The tape will throw the the wheel out however its a trailer so at 60MPH its not that much in reality

Always tape ours certainly on the rally cars !!

Most folk dont, even the manufacturers say you dont need to. But best advice is to get them balanced anyway as the caravan will otherwise surely shudder? How can it not? Especially as one of my wheels needed 100g of weight added. There were horror stories a couple of years ago of Bailey caravan wheels detaching during towing Not sayong it was due to wheel balancing, I think it was faulty wheel studs. But an unbalanced wheel isnt going to help. |
