I sold my 2006 TD6 Vogue Autobiography last April for my current Puma 110. The FFRR was the bee's knee's (before that I had FFRR 4.4 Petrol - the gearbox went pop....see ya' £3500!). It was lovely in all the right places but then the battery started to play up (pre heater kept flattening it in winter even with a new battery), rear bushes went and then the service costs mounted up. I was fed up with it and wanted to go back to a 'proper' LR Laughing so it went via the autotrader to the sunny north. I would have another one but deep down I'm just too much into rust, not being really comfortable BUT owning the ultimate vehicle in my opinion Thumbs Up Oh...and depreciation ...I forgot that one...lost 6k in 1 year... Big Cry I've lost nothing on the 110 in a year. Cheers,
Superspoons

Sounds like the sort of Land Rover you buy new and get rid of after a few years! Reckon you would be mad to sell a galvanised 300 TDI that will last the rest of your life for one of them! Whistle 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

Thats the problem right there. Dont know if I could do it. I love my 110 but when I see a RR my mouth drops. But if I bought one I know I'd miss my 110. Im in a catch 22 Sad The only answer is to have both. But thats just unrealistic.

the tdv6 is a cracking engine in the D4 and the RRV, the vehicle is lighter than the tdv8 too. i would still have a tdv8 though. Cheers

My take is great to swap every 3 years . Turbo blew on mine at 42 months ouch .
I started to get bored driving it .
My change was not due to the cost , it was down to lr bringing out a new sport and 12 month wait for a vogue and not enough discount
And the wife said I need a hobby Thumbs Up

take this with a pinch of salt as I may have this wrong but my brother in law had one and it hadn't done big milage and think I'm right in saying the repair bill for replacement brake parts (consumables) was counted in thousands not hundreds ! Shocked

I had a loaner recently which had bearly 5k on the cloack and the front was knocking (track rods or drive shaft I don't know) but unless you've got a good warranty to fall back on I suggest your pockets need to be full of £££'s

Im probably going to ponder over this decision for some time. I cant afford to make the mistake of selling a perfectly good Defender for a brilliant RR that I cant afford to run. Strangely, my wife wants me to get a RR, but then shes always hated my Defender Sad

Come over and take my FFRR out for a spin anytime if you want pal? Thumbs Up As for TD6 being underpowered?, yes possibly compared to a TDV8 or supercharged but i have never found mine lacking in any way, am more than happy with the way it goes. Will do highly illegal speeds all day long if required. After all if i wanted a racing car i wouldnt chose any range rover Mr. Green they are not the sort of car to charge about in
