United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
Moving the adjustable tow hitch
I'm mounting a NATO hitch on the back of my 110 Puma to tow a recently purchased Sankey widetrack.

Research has dug up several problems that folks have had with the really weak crossmember being bent - especially if the NATO rotates or the ring gets stuck.

I was thinking of using my existing OEM adjustable tow bracket as a spreader (being wider than the NATO and attached to the chassis and the spreader bar underneath).

Obviously I need the NATO to be in line with the 4 holes on the crossmember.

It looks like bracket on the OEM mount can be moved up in line with the NATO holes (obviously I'll move the electrics - probably to the PTO hole on the right).

Has anyone done this and does it line up with the 4 holes? Their spread pattern is 45mm x 85mm. I'd check but I'm in the US at the moment and need to sort this ASAP when I get back before picking up the Sankey.

Help and thoughts appreciated.
