Dry landscape photos... let's see yours ;-)
You know I'm a bit sad no-one created a Desert scene photos topic.

I'm feeling lonely here... Rolling Eyes

Well ok, not that lonely.

It's actually getting difficult to find an empty dune these days !
Will you spot my Defender on this picture ?

This is the old "Road to the Isles", a segment of which ran from the current-day Tomdoun Sporting Lodge Hotel
north-west past Cluanie Lodge to Cluanie Inn in Scotland.
This passed over two rivers which were dammed and flooded to form Lochs Cluanie and Loyne in around 1957.
The old tracks to Loch Loyne are now gated and in private ownership but accessible by walkers and mountain bikers.
Scottish Hydro drain the Loch when they need to do annual maintenance and this is the result.
Yes, it's not desert, but it's certainly deserted and a dry landscape!
These pics date from September 2008.
For more information see my Geograph page at: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/969191

And this image from Google Maps shows what the Loch looks like when it is not drained for maintenance and roughly where I parked. Trevor Wright

Me and Dave competing in the Outback Challenge, Broken Hill, NSW, Australia, May 2008.

Me scrambling up a sand hill to set the ground anchor (which failed to set and we dnf'd the stage)

Racing against Gary Smith in the Motorkhana. The 2 vehicles just touched! We won the round, as Gary did a diff landing heavily over a hump, whilst we played it quick but steady and made it round with no breakages!

Is it just me who's "unauthorised" to watch them? Sad Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
