In our second day we went to Lonquimay area. This area is accequible through a long railway tunnel now converted to cars. it is the longest tunel in Chile (4.5 km) but nothing compared with your Chunnel.
![]() ![]() In Lonquimay we discovered an old Series I still in duty ![]() After that we come back through an alternative pass of the tunnel at almost 2000 m, that was really stunning! ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge After this stunning trip a thermal bath was waitng for us ![]() And at the end we come back to our cabin under a fog like in London ![]() But with a Defender its not a problem ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Cheers!! Awesome! I'm really hankering after some decent outdoors action. I seem to be spending too much time in airports, offices and taxis.

Thanks for the comments, really we spend a pretty nice weekend, quite short but intense
By the way K9F, Chile have some of the best places in the world to fish trouts and salmons and several of the best fishermans from Europe and USA came here to fish. Down to the south is plenty of a fisherman lodges that you can rent. Most famous ones are located in Rio pescado (fish river) Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" ![]() Click image to enlarge |
