Good man Thumbs Up and a nice piece of kit - Clarion of course! You'll appreciate the nice clear graphics and multiple iPhone connection options.

Just like mine Wink

Have you rigged up a camera yet?

If you are on standard speakers a subwoofer is a good addition (I'd recommend the clarion srv) but there are other makes available apparently Laughing

Thumbs Up looks awesome..... makes me miss mine.

Just as advice.... if on corrugations put the screen in. Mine lasted 3 years but then the bumps finally took its toll Sad , has been a good reason for an upgrade though Wink .

DJ,

But can I close the screen automatically when I switched off the Defender key???

Because or I switched off the unit (with the power button) or, if I use the ignitipn key, the unit switch off itself but the screen remain out...... Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Yes you can, in the settings menu you can choose auto for the screen. It will close when you turn off ignition, the downside is that it will always open as well IIRC which isn't always convenient.

That's why with mine I always keep it closed unless in use and open and close manually. A. it can get in the way of the Hazard light switch and B. If you not expecting it with ignition on or the passenger it's at it's most vulnerable to be hit / damaged as it's in action....

Question - Does it not have variable illumination or green colour display? Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

mhmmm

doesn't work.

with "auto for the screen" when I switch on the ignition (same "step" when the cabin fan goes on) the radio goes on and the monitor goes out, but when I switch off the ignition the radio goes off but the monitor stay out....... I'll check mine tomorrow , but I think you need to turn the key back to the first position until screen is closed then right off, if that makes sense.

But as Steve says its probably better to open it when you are ready, otherwise it might be in the way when you are not ready for it (like loading cup holders, wiping windows etc)

But I have discovered that if it hits something on the way out (dog in my case) it will stop moving, then continue when you turn it on again

Whoops - me bad. Got that wrong its (as you have spotted) auto open, not auto open and close. I would have put money on it closing automatically but seems not. I turned that function off a year ago so memory dimmed I'm afraid

So it'll open when you turn on, but stay open when you switch off. A really handy feature then Laughing
