somewhere to stay in Yorkshire
Me and the Mrs are heading up to the Lakes and staying at Temple Sowerby in a B&B. then we plan on driving back home via Yorkshire and now wondering where.

So looking for a decent B&B semi rural/not far from town but quiet. As to where in Yorkshire, not 100% sure yet, that would depend on B&B.

So, where have people stayed in Yorkshire? Rather open ended but the right one might just pop up! 1999 Defender TD5 110

Drive through the Dales on the way back from the Lakes, stop at a nice pub somewhere for lunch, then head east and into the North York Moors National Park. That way you see two areas which are both equally as beautiful but have similar but different (if that is possible!) types of scenery.... Next day fish and chips and a wander around Whitby! Thumbs Up

Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations for B&Bs as we a either in the caravan or roof tent when we are there! Helmsley is a lovely small market town - feels rural but plenty of nice little shops and a selection of good pubs and eateries....
Have a search on the web for accommodation bits. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

Blimey what a open large question to ask.

Seriously consider Ye Old Hill Inn in Chapel le Dale. About 3 miles outside Ingleton between Ingleborough and Whernside. So great walking territory super scenery

If you have time stop for a meal there do so

Colin the owner is a master sugar chef. Local produce ,eggs from the free range hens out the back of the pub. Sausages and pork comes from their own pigs.

Local folk evenings held as well.

They do B & B and gets a big Thumbs Up from us.

Am sure you will get other people recommending good pubs.

Cheers for the replies peeps. We have decided to just to the 2 nights/3days in the Lakes.
We are back in Yorkshire for the Branham horse trials later on in the year. 1999 Defender TD5 110
