Drive through the Dales on the way back from the Lakes, stop at a nice pub somewhere for lunch, then head east and into the North York Moors National Park. That way you see two areas which are both equally as beautiful but have similar but different (if that is possible!) types of scenery.... Next day fish and chips and a wander around Whitby!
![]() Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations for B&Bs as we a either in the caravan or roof tent when we are there! Helmsley is a lovely small market town - feels rural but plenty of nice little shops and a selection of good pubs and eateries.... Have a search on the web for accommodation bits. Blimey what a open large question to ask.
Seriously consider Ye Old Hill Inn in Chapel le Dale. About 3 miles outside Ingleton between Ingleborough and Whernside. So great walking territory super scenery If you have time stop for a meal there do so Colin the owner is a master sugar chef. Local produce ,eggs from the free range hens out the back of the pub. Sausages and pork comes from their own pigs. Local folk evenings held as well. They do B & B and gets a big ![]() Am sure you will get other people recommending good pubs. Brendan |
