What about one that plays tapes Ken - would that do? Laughing

I just wish modern headunits were so "asian supermarket" looking with their bright neon and stupidly designed buttons etc. Just give me a plain unit with the black digit, grey screen and I'm happy.

That's my view as well, shame the Landrover one wasn't a bit more 'functional' as the appearance suits the defender interior well.

My feeling is that a lot of the head units are designed for a younger customer who maybe like the look.

I agree on that one. It would have been useful just to have RCA outputs and 3.5mm jack as standard on all models. A lot more adequate then. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Phew thats a relief Steve Mr. Green

Yes a few more outputs would be handy if you wanted to connect an amp setup. Not sure what the 3.5 socket on mine was for, would probably work with an iPod/iphone/mp3 player but never tried it. Sat in the store room at the moment.

Think that was a Clarion model, presumably made to LR spec hence colours matching nicely. I guess ICE wasn't high on LR's agenda when they stuck that in, but as its probably been in there since 2007 things have moved on since then. The latest one looks a bit better specced.

Now we are talking, who on earth thought they were a good idea! Remember them coming and going, like the big 12" silver discs for playing films on. Good old days before they took the valves out Laughing

Yep, To work with iPods ect but it's less than perfect as you have to have you music selected off of the iPod where as many aftermarket HU's have a Direct Control where you can access all your music files ect through the HU it's self. Some such as mine and yours are able to video even too. Whilst that's going to far to expect that from LR but some of the basics should have been there at least as I mentioned above. The 2.4 was first rolled out in 2007 and back in 2007 there was still a LOT of electronics about so I think it should have been included. 1997 I could understand or 2004 / 2005 even but not 2007.
Still we have the fun of doing it instead. Mr. Green Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

You've got so many bits bolted on your truck Ken I don't think the weight of a CD deck is gonna make a lot of difference Mr. Green
