Maggiolina Airlander Roof Tent FS - SOLD ALREADY!
I know it's not the ideal time of year, but before it goes on eBay I wondered whether any forum member might want a Maggiolina Airlander.

As i'm sure you all know, they're the dogs nuts, particularly in this climate, as you dont have to fold a ton of wet canvas into your mattress, and they dont seem to suffer from condensation under the mattress that afflicts the howling moon or Hannibal style tents. It's always bone dry inside regardless of the weather, and that's when it opened up or closed down on a motorway at ahem mph in driving rain.

Putting it up and down takes less than a minute. Compared to the aforementioned species of tent, there's no faffing with filthy covers, fiddily oversized tent pegs, or worn, overstreteched bits of canvas.

It's in excellent condition, blue canvas sides, white shell, no cracks or damage and regularly waxed whilst on the car, whilst normally stored inside over winter.

The mattress is spotless and sheets have always been used. Comes with two unused pillows. Hasn't really had much use tbh as always busy with work. Generally just a couple of long weekends in the summer at two horse shows.

There's built in lighting, ladder and winding handle. I do have an awning for it, though may hold onto it in case I get another in the future.

A little known benefit of these is that the spoiler effect of the aerodynamic shell improves handling significantly.. When I took it off last Autumn, I scared myself... My DC felt like a lolloping, wallowing space hopper with no sense of direction or balance.

I'd take £700 for it with collection from near Canterbury. All fitting brackets included plus some muscles to help pop it on.

Very interested, what size is it?

That's a good question Steve.. There's a little label on the inside, without double checking its the small or medium size, it's def not the widest one. However, if you mean the actual dimensions I can measure and let you know. It just neatly fits inside the side rails on my patriot rack.

Two very comfortably fit in and I'm six foot and there's room to spare at the foot.

Ps just to save people's time.. I'm sticking to my guns at £700 as I think that's a very fair price and Martin can have a donation. Failing that it'll go on eBay this weekend for a buy it now at £850/£900

The external dimensions of a small Airlander is 2.1 x 1.3m whereas the medium Airlander is 2.1 x 1.45m

A standard Patriot roofrack is 1.4m wide. If it fits inside the luggage rail of a Patriot roof rack, with the space between the two sides being just less then 1.4m I would suggest it is the small Airlander.

Current retail price on a small Airlander is £1,680.

I guess it's sold then! Thanks for everyone's interest, though I'm not sure whether I secretly wanted it to remain unsold Whistle
