Thumbs Up I’m getting lots of white smoke for the first 5 mins when it’s been sat for more than an hour which turns into copious amounts of black smoke while driving the rest of the time. I don’t think it was very well looked after in its first 70k miles before I got it and I think it’s taken it’s toll Big Cry I spoke to my garage and stripping down, probable piston rings/ valve stem oil seals or whatever they find is going to run into a fair bit of labour so I decided a fresh start with a decent warranty was worth the extra. I’m keeping the original engine so I could go through it if I ever get bored and stick it back in. Ray

Oh not great, but a fresh start makes sense. Probably the route I would go.
My original green one is still going strong, all original bar clutch ,200k on the clock and has worked for a living. Mind the layshaft in the gearbox have just started to groan Big Cry but I amazed that it’s got that far. I’m the second owner, and had her from 12 months old with 18k on the clock. Regular maintenance and driven with some mechanical sympathy. Your diagnosis probably adds up lol: Laughing

To be fair mine still runs reasonably smoothly (other than the 007 style smoke screen Laughing ) and I have got 80k out of it in my ownership so she hasn’t done too bad really. Like gingez says, it’s the triggers broom of defenders Laughing when I’ve finished there will probably only be the chassis and wiring loom original Rolling with laughter Ray
