£80! Pah, mine was £22.50 and brand spanking new! Totally of the shelf at a Go-Outdoors. It has the great advantage of being a dual purpose item, up on the roof or anywhere nearby on the floor. My two boys were more than happy the year before last at Peterborough(the windy one) up on the roof, last yearthe youngest boy and I were by the side of the motor for the weekend. Takes up hardly any room when packed up as well!

Absolutely! Make it up on the floor, chuck it up on the roof, couple of seconds tying it down and ready to use! If you need to drive off, four strings to undo, drop it on the floor and you're off! Keeps your "spot" occupied and somewhere to chuck stuff you don't need inside, perfick!

Seems like a good idea... What did you use to tie it down?

How did that hold up in the wind?

I was thinking about a roof tent, but it'd be a wee bit heavy to leave up there all the time, or to take off/put on by myself.

The fitted guyropes just lashed to the roofrack, I know I'm tallish.but there is no hassle popping it up on the rack from the floor even wit two single airbeds in. As for wind resistance, anybody who was at Peterborough will testify that the last but one show was more than a tad windy! Britain was just catching the tail end of a hurricane from America and the kids slept soundly friday and saturday nights and it was sat on the motor all from friday to sunday morning with no hassle at all. It's been the best £22.50 I've spent for it's versatility as it can be put anywhere not just a dedicated thing stuck to the roof.
