SuperProduction/ALRC 1998 Defender V8
I'm not using this much and while I'd rather not sell it (because there's no chance of coming across one again!) if someone is interested in giving it a good home (ie one that doesn't involve random tat being strapped to it and pay and plays etc).

Super Production / ALRC legal Defender V8 for sale.

Built in 1998 from a bare 90 chassis using box section bulkhead as per Drawing 54 MSA bluebook
P&P cage (ALRC logbooked). Early Hi compression Range Rover V8 on tweaked SU’s and K&N’s mounted over 14” further back than normal.

V8 discovery R380 (reconned about 1000miles ago) mounted to a Borg Warner T case. With a full tank of fuel and 2 on board this 90 is actually slightly rear end heavy everything’s so far back. Drives very well and balanced for a 90 as you can imagine.

Usual stuff, Cobra FIA seats, twin facet pumps/ twin kenlowe fans, twin coils etc. Custom alloy tank in the rear so doesn’t sit proud of the chassis underneath.
Recent bits include new pumps, new PAS box and UJ’s and some bushes. Been garaged all but one year since build and been used for RTV’s mainly only doing a few comps early on in it’s life. Originally a soft top but PO has put a HT on but it would look better being a soft top again.

Currently on trial springs so long shocks and 17” soft springs and 235/85R16 Lion Matrix with about 1000miles on them.
With the Borg Warner box it sits on the road at very low revs (1.222:1) and is very comfy but a set of 4.7 Diffs would bring it back into race worthy ratios in high range.
Currently on SORN and stored in my garage but will put 12Months MOT if the seller wishes. Very well thought out and sweet running motor that’s just not getting the use.

Paint job is a bit tarbrush enterprises but looks ok. Comes with all it’s inspection paperwork from it’s SVA and the ALRC and V5 logbooks as well as a raft of spares including spare props and a Borg Warner case.

As an RTV motor it has been very very competitive and filled the cabinets of previous owners and mine. As we’re rallying now it’s just not getting used and I’d like it to go to a good home rather than someone who’s going to cover it in tat and take to a pay and play!

£3700 ono located in the Lake District tother side from the M6.

I'm not exactly making money on this! It's more a case of finding a good new custodian. There's a LOT of man hours went into this. 90XS Tdci John Eales
