You can buy very thin polystyrene sheet on a roll - designed to be applied to damp walls like wallpaper. I've glued this to a roof in the past to prevent condensation forming in between the headlining and the roof, which then drips out through the headlining.
Got to be worth a go for a tenner....? My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk 110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |

Thanks for this, La Saille seems quite expensive and second hand linings go for silly money, so I think I will have to buy a waterproof hat.
![]() Has anyone done any diy insulations of the roof / sides, any pictures / material info would be great. Pete |

I have lined mine with reflective coated closed cell foam. I got the foam out of a HAZRAD kit bought from an Ebay seller (I did a deal for 4 kits, still have 2.5 kits left!). 1 kit would easily do the sides and roof of a 90. It is simply glued on with carpet adhesive and is holding up well. I spent over 2 weeks sleeping in the back of the truck in temps down to zero and the only condensation was on the bare metal ribs. It has n=made it much quieter and warmer too. Only pic i have sorry

I too have used the same insulation that Mark has.
![]() ![]() ![]() I slept in the truck this weekend which was sub zero we put some heat into the truck for half an hour before going to sleep. When we woke up the truck was still at four degrees so worked well, I also have foil window blinds though so this also helps. Jason. |

I made a set of window blinds for my truck, I did post on here but can't find it now but it is also on LR4x4.com (http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=75339)it makes a big difference as lots of heat is being lost out of the windows. Jason. |
