I am considering doing the above, maybe both, probably just the reverse light, replacing the fog with a second reverse lamp and relocating the fog lamp to the crossmember hole.
If I were to put 2 LED lamps on, I could just "piggyback" the second off the original wiring, right? |

Has anyone done this before? |

I don't like double fog lights on any car. They are rarely spaces to match the lights and give a false perspective when following in thick fog.
Some Renaults are dreadful as they have a light just either side of the number plate so look much further away than they actually are! |

I was planning to duplicate the reverse, as they are not brilliant, and put the existing fog in the remember. double IMO even up the rear, but I'm not overly worried with the symmetry.

One rear fog light is one too many in my opinion!

+1 Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

i'm tempted to use the bolt on bits LEDs for the tail/stop, side and indicators and then just double up the fogs and reversing lights as shown on Martin's Defender. Still not completely decided. need to consider the wiring as i would prefer to add a loom with the correct spliced connectors and not use those horrid blue clips.
more research needed when i have the time. BM52 |

I'm sure some people see fog/rain/spray and think- "aha! I've got a button for that!" And probably don't know what it actually does!
Rant over, how about double reverse with the fog light in the hole in the crossmember? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

It's possible to buy male connectors for these lights - the same bit that's built in to the back of the lights themselves - which, when coupled with a regular female connector, could be made up into a short loom that would fit between the existing plug and light. By splicing in a second pair of wires to this loom, either directly into one of the plugs or soldered to the wires between, a connection can be made without interfering with the existing wiring. I plan to do something similar to pick up a reverse light feed for a reversing camera. The male plugs can be bought from eBay HERE and the regular female ones are also readily available. Three pin ones are available too, if you have a need to use a similar trick with the stop or tail lights.
