What's your NCB got to do with it?

You're claiming off the van driver's insurance, not yours. I wouldn't even be telling your insurance company, nothing to do with them.

I agree, but... You are supposed to tell them, even if there is no intention of a claim going in, as they might well need to re-assess how much of a risk you are.

Well yes technically you should tell them, but I only would if they ask for an incident like this. However there's no reason your premium should increase. Someone driving into you when you're parked doesn't have any statistical influence on the chance of you having an accident again in the future.

I had an accident a few years ago now where a foreign lorry driver rammed me into the central reservation on the M25. I informed my insurance company, they put it on record but never increased my premium since I was not at fault, and the third party admitted 100% liability.
