Relay fault
2009 110 usw
When on a restart the other day it wouldn't start.
The previous owner said it had happened to him and he called out road side assist and they said it was a commen fault.
And you have to cool a relay down.
When you turn the key the temp gauge flys to the top and the coil light doesn't come on, the engine turns over but no start up
I opened up the compartment under the seat, looked for the third relay back as told, wasn't sure which one it was, it was cold out anyway, so left it 5min and retried and it started fine.
Anyone else had similar, is there a easy fix! its only a car!

Sounds similar to the relay fault that happens on TD5s where the ECU relay under the drivers seat comes loose causing cut out of power to the ECU and signs like you describe. Not sure if this continues to be a fault on the TDCi.

Not heard of a relay overheating causing a problem like this.
