Skyfall.. review/thoughts
What did you all think of the movie? I figure as a non brit, I might have a different perspective but I was a bit let down if I'm honest.

Daniel Craig did a great job once again, and all around I think it was solid acting and a reasonably good storyline.

The main problems that I had with it:

Javier Bardem's character, I don't think he was the right actor for the part at all. I happen to think he's a great actor, but he wasn't a good fit for the role.

No gadgets. How do you make a bond movie without gadgets, that's skipping over what I think is the second most important part of the whole franchise.

Which brings me to the first most important part of the franchise. BOND GIRLS, which were basically non existent in this movie. How did anybody let that happen???

If this was a regular movie without the Bond name attached, I would probably have been pretty happy with it. I just don't think it lived up to it's namesake.

Anyway, curious what you lot think. My Travel Page

Sorry but I thought it was one of the best Bond films I have seen, but then I was never a fan of those comic Roger Moore capers - more Carry-On than James Bond!!

I also though it was excellent. I liked the fact that this one was more 'back-to-basics' with less focus on gadgets and overly-complicated, hard-to-follow storylines. I also really liked Javier Bardem's character, a great villain. I suppose it's just down to personal preference! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I'm another one that thougt it was fantastic Mr. Green

The latest bonds have really been more about how bond started which is why there has not been as many gadgets. Russell

She was beautiful, but she had maybe three minutes on screen before she died. That hardly counts as a Bond girl.. My Travel Page

Same with Gemma Arterton in the last one, I don't think Bond Girls ever last long.

I thought it was good, a real back to basics, none of those invisible cars or space rockets .. I liked the "A" team movie and the "Hangovers" too ... what do I know

My only comment would have to be, how can you run out of road in a defender? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
