Truck loads of them

Saw these on the A43 heading north today. All right hand drive (so not going abroad directly from LR) all in matt sand colour (though looked like they'd been standing for some time judging by the streaks down the paint) and all seemed to have stainless steel exhausts too.

Most puzzling was that they were on all Motorpoint transporters, surely they don't want them?

Anyone know what they might be for?

I love the temporary lighting boards. Presumably, they're going to have a special body built that will house the lights.

Ambulances, maybe? I wonder if the matt sand is essentially an undercoat and they'll eventually be finished with military IR paint? Darren

I've just been reading about the new Northern Ireland armoured Land Rovers, some of which are being built be Penman in Scotland and I wonder if that's where these were heading. They apparently start with a HD 110 chassis cab and turn them into this:
