Storage boxes
I am looking at getting some Mobile Storage Solutions boxes for my double cab.

What I don't want to do is lose too much of the rear tub space as I do need the space for carrying large objects etc.

First off I was going to use a couple of their Micro chests but realised this would not work due to the shape of the wheelboxes, size etc.

The choice now is between the slimline chests that fit on the wheelbox or the store chest that goes between the wheelboxes. I don't need a vast amount of storage so I think the slimline chest may be better.

Is anybody using either of these two storage chests and, if so, what are your opinions on them ?

Of course, if I go for the storage chest fitment will have to wait until the spare wheel has a new home outside of the tub. Laughing

Bob,

I have the chest that sits between the wheel boxes and it is awesome. I went for the smaller one so I can add the drawer at a later date if I wish to do so. Even though the box isn'tbig and takes up minimal space in the tub it can hold loads.

Highly recomended,

Glyn

I had a sneaky feeling you had an MSS storage chest Glyn !

Did you get the 'special' version they advertise for the DC if it is going to have the storage tray ?

I don't know about a storage tray...but mine is the DC one as it is about 1-2" smaller than the 90 version as the tub is slightly shorter.

I would be interested in a storage tray though

It was this bit from their website that I was referring to -

"Note: variant available for use in Double Cab along with drawer unit due to reduced load area"

So I guess this is the version you have.

Yeah, that is the one Very Happy

Only thing I would do different is I would go for the one with two locks rather than the one, but that is it the rest is perfect.

Bob the T chest is good from Mobile storage, look at sonics gallery, its where the spare wheel goes Whistle
You can then fit a drawer in front of it. You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

I went for your initial thought of a pair of micro chests, which are excellent, allowing me to reach in from the sides of the truck. (Since buying them I've seen the modular T chest, and that is lovely and I'm quite envious). Also, I can't recommend Mobile Storage Systems enough - excellent customer service, and only an extra £4.50 to plastic coat the tops of each of my chests in black to match the Landy. Peter
