leave the openings and have fcx sticker or laser cut out on the front easy way around the leather and would look even better CSK Automotive

Finally got around to trimming the headlining and thought we'd buck the trend of just covering in one piece of material and introduce our favourite ..... Leather !!!!

Wow, very nice. Always fancied a dark roof lining (in all my cars), and the leather panel looks great. I take it you're not going to cover it with a console. My Disco 'best bits'

It certainly makes the interior darker as there's no reflective light. No, not fitting a console as I've put a double DIN cubby in to take care of additional switches and CB  |

I must admit I do like the black headlining idea too. Especially slightly mud splattered as mine is in the rear.

I wasn't really sure if I'd like it as we were covering it but now it's in it's really made all the difference and is the finishing touch !
We've covered the rear window surrounds in black leather and are in the process of doing the A, B and C pillars as well. |

How do you cover a headlining? Presumed it was dyed. My Disco 'best bits'

No, not dyed.
The original LR material is removed leaving a rigid 'shell', we then stitched the leather centre 'feature' to the black Alston material and this in turn is adhered to the shell. New 'fir tree' fittings are used to reinstall BUT with typical FCX attention to detail, each one has the head covered in either Alston or black leather dependant on their location |

would fcx be interested in headlining kits where we would do the applying ourselves but you could supply the material all cut and ready to go? a headlining is an awkward shape for a mailman i think

Hi William,
Not something I'd thought about to be honest, but I'll certainly look into it. We are however looking to have some lightweight carriage containers made to transport headlinings backwards and forwards but I suspect the market will be limited when cost, carriage costs and 'awkwardness' is taken into consideration. I envisage trimmed headlinings to be part of a total retrim package that we would install here |
