Very heavy duty, hard wearing rear suspension for 300TDi?
I have a friend who has a smallholding & also does farm work. He uses a 300TDi 90. As he pulls up to the max on road & off road 6 tons (he says), he goes through rear suspension shocks, even HD fast. At the moment he's thionking about going customised leaf!

Are there any hard wearing, low maintenance rear coil shocks/dampers, not too expensive he could buy, either made for Defenders, or generally that could be fitted to a Defender? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

If you want cheap, why not try a set of the Terrafirma big bore dampers? He may also want to stiffen up the rear coils slightly as well if he is towing that weight.

He could cut off the upper spring seats and weld on 110 units and then fit springs from a 110/130. Even has the option of internal helper springs then. Gwyn Lewis has also made a bolt-on twin shock mount for the rear but not sure if he is selling them yet.
