Wow! I'm still getting 24-25. If I don't stray much above 70 on a long motorway run then I'm looking at 27 but still not great.
I've not really noticed any change in that over the time I've had it. The Snorkel might have knocked 1 mpg off and I've not had the engine remap done. Saving up for a proper BAS tune at some point. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Just for your interest I get better MPG with the BAS tune down loaded. Please don't ask me why but it does. Admittedly it is not much better but every bit counts.

I'm averaging 26 mpg on my daily commute but it is a 12 mile combination of stop-start traffic out of town, followed by twisty country lanes, two miles of which is single track with passing places and with numerous junctions, so lots of stop-start again.
To put it into context my 1.8 petrol Freelander averaged 24 mpg on the same daily journey. Prior to that I had a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI (105 bhp), on the commute to my previous job a 29 mile combination of country lanes, dual carriageway and a bit of in town traffic I usually saw 50 mpg on the computer. When I switched to my current journey that dropped to 38 mpg ![]() So on that theory, a switch to more open road driving should see a 32% increase in my fuel consumption ![]() Well that would be 34 mpg which is most probably impossible as at higher speeds the brick like quality of Land Rover aerodynamics comes into play ![]() 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I still drive it like I stole it ![]() Still haven't got over the novelty of a Defender with power! The other day I discovered the official "performance" figures for my old Turbo Diesel Ninety (when it was new in 1990 of course). Top Speed: 75mph 0 to 60: 24 seconds ![]() And on a good day I could see 18 mpg ![]() 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |
